Residents of Lighthouse Point are part of the Broward County Public Schools. Although there are not any public schools located in the city-limits, there is a school finder that provides which school your child would attend in the neighboring communities. There are private Christian schools available as well.

Broward Health North is a hospital located just west of Lighthouse Point and provides full service hospital facilities for any needs of the residents. The city also has clinics and over 200 physicians for more general needs.

 Being built around a major canal that leads to the Intracoastal Waterway, many residents use their boats to get around the town and to bordering cities. Many places have an area for you to dock your boat. The city also provides the Lighthouse Point Community Bus Service as a means for transportation throughout the community. Many drive and walk as well. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is a short 30-minute drive south and provides national and international flights.
